Playing online is nice (when I get the chance), but it is really nothing like the tactile sensations attributed with opening a real pack of Magic: the Gathering product. I work every weekend, so even FNM is alien to me (having attended 3 times in 6 years). Last year I began playing on MTGO and purchased a common/uncommon set of everything that was standard legal, plus a few rares. Zendikar Block: 1 box of ZEN, fat pack, attended release tournament. Shards Block: fat pack for each expansion, 1 box of Conflux, ~5 packs of Alara Reborn. Lorwyn/Shadowmoor Block: fat pack for each expansion Time Spiral: fat pack for each expansion, ~20 packs.ġ0th Edition: ~10 boosters.

Ravnica Block: fat pack for each expansion except Dissension, all precons, ~20 boosters Kamigawa Block: fat pack for each expansion, 3 boxes of Champions, 1 box Betrayers, all precons

Mirrodin Block: fat pack for each expansion, 1 box, all precons Her interest in the game has waned (she just plays with the old preconstructed decks now), but I am hooked. My wife and I purchased an 8th Edition starter deck with CD to teach us how to play and we were off and running. I started playing when Mirrodin was released.
